Managing accreditations in Eventmaker

Accreditations are the access control system on Eventmaker. They allow you to precisely manage who can access what, whether for a physical check-in point (entrance, room, booth...) or for a session in your program.

Definition: What is an accreditation?

An accreditation is an access right granted to a participant for a check-in point, whether an entrance, a session, a product, or other.

It therefore also makes it possible to set registration quotas for your participants. To do this, you must create your check-in point and set a quota on it before granting access to the different categories linked to that quota.

You can grant these accreditations by:

  • At the individual level (via a participant's record),

  • At the registration category level (for all participants of the same type).

This allows precise control of visitor flows according to their profile.

Available accreditation statuses

Each accreditation can have one of the following statuses:

Status

Description

Access denied

The participant will scan red and will not be granted access.

One-time access

The participant can enter only once (e.g.: entry to the show).

Unlimited access

The participant can pass as many times as desired.

Limited number

A custom quota of entries is set (e.g.: 3 passes).

Manage accreditations from a category

  1. Go to Registration > Categories and click on the relevant category.

  2. In the top right, click on Other settings > Manage accreditations.

  3. A list of all your check-in points is displayed.

  4. Choose, for each point :

    • the status (denied, one-time, unlimited, limited),

You can also apply changes in bulk to multiple points via multi-selection.

⚠️ If you assign a one-time access to a session, this effectively creates an indirect registration quota: once the accesses are consumed, the session is considered full for that person.

Manage accreditations from a session or a check-in point

You can also assign accreditations from the session or the check-in point, by directly targeting the authorized categories.

  1. Go to the Program or Check-in Points tab.

  2. Click on the check-in point then on actions

  3. Check the categories that will have access to this point or session.

Key points

  • Accreditations allow a precise access control based on participant profiles.

  • They can be assigned to an individual participant or to an entire category.

  • They also allow you to define registration quotas.

  • The available statuses cover all cases: denied, one-time, unlimited, or limited.

  • They are essential for configuring your badges, your check-ins and your access restrictions.

  • You can manage them from several places: category, session, check-in point, or individual record.
