You can manage advanced discount policies, create unique or grouped codes, and control their application at each stage of the process.

Enable discounts on your registration flows

Promo codes allow you to apply targeted discounts to your participants, to encourage registration, reward specific profiles, or manage marketing campaigns. On Eventmaker, this feature is fully configurable, from adding codes to the fine management of their application policy.

The promo code section on our platform contains a dashboard of existing promo codes summarizing amounts, types, number of uses, capacity, actions:

⚠️ Promo codes cannot be combined. If a code is entered, it will be applied to the total cart amount of the visitor's order (for example in a ticketing scenario). Additionally, a promotional code must be entered before the registration of a guest.


Enable the feature

To start, enable the feature Payment > Promo codes from the Registration module in the event features. Once enabled, a Promo codes tab appears in the back office.


Create a promo code

  1. Go to the Promo codes tab

  2. Click Add a promo code

  3. Fill in:

    • Code (e.g.: VIP2025)

    • Label (internal)

    • Amount and discount type:

      • Fixed amount

      • Percentage of the amount

      • Buy X Products, Get Y Products

  4. If needed, set a usage quota

  5. Choose or create a promo code policy (see below)

  6. Click Save

Once created, you can edit, disable or delete a code at any time via the Actions column of the table.

⚠️ A disabled code is not deleted; it remains visible but will no longer be usable.


Import multiple promo codes

To save time, you can import a CSV file containing multiple promo codes:

  • In the Promo codes tab, click Other actions > Import multiple promo codes

  • Upload the file that conforms to the provided template


Define a promo code policy

The policy defines what the code applies to:

  • To certain categories only

  • To certain access points (check-in)

  • To the entire cart

Two options to create a policy:

  • Directly when creating a promo code

  • Or via Other actions > Manage policies

Policies can be modified at any time.


Require the use of a promo code for a category

  1. Go to Registrations > Categories

  2. Click the name of the relevant category

  3. Click Add features > Promo code

  4. Enable the Promo code required option

⚠️ In this case, a participant will have to enter a valid code to validate their registration.


Add a "Promo code" field to a form

  1. Go to Forms

  2. Select the desired form

  3. Click Add a question > Promo code

  4. Use the options to customize the display


Create unique codes integrated into registration

You can create a different promo code for each participant:

  1. Add a "promo code" column to your guest list (Excel file)

  2. During import, map this column to the "promo code" field

  3. Create the same codes in Promo codes

  4. Participants will automatically receive their code in the dedicated field of the form (and potentially by email)


Things to know

  • Only one promo code can be used per registration (not combinable)

  • A code must be entered before registration to be applied

  • A code can apply to a form with or without ticketing

Thanks to this feature, you can refine your invitation campaigns, encourage early registrations, or manage differentiated access smoothly.
