The domain name specifies the address displayed to access the website of your event.

With Eventmaker, you can use and modify the domain name we provide by default, or fully customize your website's domain name with a domain you own or will purchase.

Default domain name

By default Eventmaker offers you a domain name ending with eventmaker.io. Your site can therefore be securely accessed via a URL such as my_event.eventmaker.io; it is possible to change your subdomain — "my_event" in the example above;

Customize your domain name

For your site to be accessible via a customized URL, for example www.company.com, you must first own the domain company.com.

DNS configuration (CNAME)

In your DNS configuration interface (provided by the service used to purchase your domain name, for example Gandi, OVH, etc.) you must add a CNAME to sites.eventmaker.io. Using our example, in the DNS configuration for the domain company.com, you must add an entry :

Copy

www CNAME sites.eventmaker.io.

Note that it is not possible to set a CNAME on a root domain. You therefore need at least 3 components: "xxx.yyy.zz"

HTTPS certificate

Once the CNAME is configured, the Eventmaker team must perform an operation on their side which will allow:

  • to authorize your domain

  • to provide you with an HTTPS certificate

Change the domain name

When Eventmaker confirms that everything is in place, you can enter the domain name on the platform :
