Creating an email campaign

This guide walks you through the steps required to configure and send your email campaigns effectively via our platform. Follow these steps in order to ensure a targeted and optimized send.

Updated over a week ago

1. Create your email

The first step is to design your email using the email builder integrated into the platform. Once the template is created, you can select it when configuring your campaign in the next step.

2. Create a recipient segment

A segment is a list of participants filtered according to specific criteria. It allows you to precisely target the people who will receive your campaign. For more information on managing segments, consult our dedicated article. Once your segment is created, simply select it when configuring your campaign.

3. Campaign management interface

The Campaigns tab lets you manage all your ongoing, sent, or scheduled campaigns. These elements will help you navigate this tab more easily:

  • Tab bar: Easily access your campaigns by status (in progress, sent, scheduled).

  • Search field: Search your campaigns by name, sender, email subject, or SMS/notification content.

  • Filters by campaign type: Filter your campaigns by type (email, SMS, notification).

  • Global statistics: A quick overview of each campaign's performance is displayed directly in the list, allowing you to monitor the impact of your sends.

4. The 5 key steps to configure and send a campaign

Step 1: Select Recipients

In this first step, choose the participant segments to target. You can add multiple segments and, if necessary, exclude some of them to refine your targeting.

Step 2: Define the Sender

Enter the sender name and email address that will be visible to your recipients in their inbox. This step is essential to ensure the credibility of your campaign.

Step 3: Write the Subject and Preview Text

The email subject is crucial to encourage recipients to open the message. It should be concise and impactful. You can also customize the preview text, which will appear under the subject in the inbox to attract attention.

Step 4: Select the Content

Choose the email template you designed in the email builder. A visual preview of the email will be displayed so you can verify the rendering before sending. Remember to customize the preview text to match your template.

Step 5: Choose the Send Date and Time

Once all previous steps are validated, you can choose to send your campaign immediately or schedule it for a future send, depending on your objectives.

5. Save and test the campaign

Before launching your campaign, it is recommended to save your settings and perform a test send. This will allow you to verify that the email is properly formatted and displays correctly in the inbox.

To perform a test, enter your own email address in the designated field. You will then receive a test email to check the rendering before the final send.

6 Double validation before sending

A double validation is required before sending your campaign. This step allows you to check all settings one last time to avoid any errors. The summary of your campaign will, in particular, provide an overview of the number of participants to whom the email will be sent, taking into account:

Participants without an email (or without a phone number) in your segment

Participants who have opted out of receiving communications.

7. Force sending a campaign

If you need to send transactional emails (such as order confirmations) to recipients who have opted out of receiving communications, you can enable the option "Send messages to these people anyway". This allows you to respect their preferences while ensuring the delivery of important messages.
