A contact is a participant in an event that is recorded at your organizer account level and will be updated over time across events.
Accessing contacts
From your events dashboard, accessible by clicking on the Eventmaker icon at the top left of your application, you can access the Contact tab which will allow you to enable, later, if you wish, SSO and its options.
Contact uniqueness fields
In order to uniquely identify your contacts across your events, it is important to define one or more unique identification fields, also called a uniqueness key. Participants with the same values for these fields will be considered the same contact.
Here are some tips on uniqueness:
Using email, last name and first name provides a high level of identification
Consider enabling normalization of your uniqueness fields to prevent duplicates
Fields to synchronize in contacts
Within your contacts, you can surface all personal data linked to their registration. Some fields in your events are functional and are not necessarily related to your contacts' personal information. To avoid polluting your database, it is important to select the fields you want to automatically surface in your contacts.
Remember to use the same fields across your events so they are stored in the same place.
